Multiplier Event at UBRUN
The ShakeAM Project held a highly anticipated Multiplier Event hosted by Brunel University London (UBRUN) on May 3, 2024, aimed at disseminating innovative results in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM). The event brought together stakeholders from higher education, research, and industry to explore the ShakeAM training methodology, which focuses on enhancing DfAM skills and creating inclusive educational resources.
Promoted via LinkedIn and local campus outreach, the event gathered 21 engaged
participants who contributed to discussions on the project’s outcomes and methodologies.
The seminar featured presentations by UBRUN's Eujin Pei and Sanjay Kumar, along with
IST’s Ines Pires, who outlined the project’s objectives and results. Adrian Bablok from
EIT Manufacturing also provided a live demonstration of the ShakeAM learning ecosystem,
highlighting the SkillsMove and Agora platforms.
Key topics covered included an introduction to the ShakeAM project, best practices in
DfAM education, and inclusive guidelines for reaching SEND and general higher education
students. Participants showed enthusiasm for applying these insights to real-world
scenarios and leveraging the ShakeAM ecosystem for their own training programs.
Feedback collected at the event reflected high satisfaction, with participants
appreciating the depth of content and the practical applications presented. Suggestions
for future events included shorter durations and access to slides post-event, which the
ShakeAM team will consider enhancing future engagement efforts.
This successful event underlines ShakeAM commitment to sustaining project results beyond
its initial phase, fostering an enduring impact on additive manufacturing education
across Europe.
